Triax Styrenic Blend
Features:
Inherent colour opaque, non-transparent
Colour range natural-coloured, black and selected colours; cadmium and lead pigments are not employed as a matter of principle
Surface finish glossy; accurate reproduction of detail, matt effect attainable with a grained surface
Stiffness tensile modulus = 1300 to 1900 MPa
Impact and fracture resistance very good; low temperature resistance to -40 °C
Chemical resistance resistant to a large number of chemicals and particularly to fuels, lubricants, solvents and cleaning agents
Resistance to stress cracking good
Heat resistance service temperature for moulded parts is between that of ABS and polyamide (depending on the grade), VST/B 120: 105 °C, VST/A 120: 190 °C
Dimensional accuracy and stability good; low anisotropy and hence a low tendency to warp
Electrical insulation good; dielectric strength: 24 to 36 kV/mm; volume resistivity: 1012 to 10 15 Ohm • cm; tracking, CTI: rating > 600
Further properties good acoustic damping properties, good abrasion resistance
Processability good flowability, reduced anisotropy compared with polyamide
